Tree Planting
2005 Kids' Arts Tree Planting Event
In Spring 2005, Kids’ Arts planted a mini-fruit tree forest with the assistance of Common Vision, an inspired and inspiring group of dedicated young adults who plant trees throughout California. They shared their vision, knowledge, and rituals with us. While some of us learned and practiced African drum beats, the rest dug in the dirt and experienced the joy of planting a tree!
We planted two apple trees, two plum trees, two apricot trees, a peach and a fig tree. One of the plum trees surprised us with two juicy plums in the first season! This project was supported through grants from the Hansen Trust and Visa International.
