This after school program for tweens (ages 9-12)  will run from Feb 6th to Feb 23rd.

The class costs $45.00 and includes supplies. Sign up and and learn:

Basic Beading
Create Paper Beads
Learn how to create Shrinky Dinks
Sculptural Jewlery (using recycled materials)
Present and market your work

Kids’ Arts/Westside Cultural Center. a non-profit organization, provides a free, comprehensive arts program for kids and teens! Children participate in classes in visual arts, theater arts, and creative movement with caring and professional teachers.

These artistic outlets offer children a means of expressing feelings, strengthening self-esteem, developing healthy social skills, interacting with positive role models, and encouraging alternate, healthy activities to risk behavior.

Classes are held each Saturday from 10:00 – 12:00  Parents and caregivers are welcome to stay with their children  and join in the fun. We are located at 856 East Thompson Blvd. between Ash & Kalorama, behind Kids &Families Together!  Find us in the little garden oasis in the back!

2005 Kids' Arts Tree Planting Event

In Spring 2005, Kids’ Arts planted a mini-fruit tree forest with the assistance of Common Vision, an inspired and inspiring group of dedicated young adults who plant trees throughout California. They shared their vision, knowledge, and rituals with us. While some of us learned and practiced African drum beats, the rest dug in the dirt and experienced the joy of planting a tree!

We planted two apple trees, two plum trees, two apricot trees, a peach and a fig tree. One of the plum trees surprised us with two juicy plums in the first season! This project was supported through grants from the Hansen Trust and Visa International.
